Hello, Everyone!
NK & I have been working diligently over the past 3 weeks to finish the New Site. We also have multiple fund-raising campaigns that will begin to take effect directly after the New Year. There are a lot of new features, projects and merchandise that will be in store for the coming months. Also, a very special wall tribute to all of my Facebook Friends who have been a tremendous source of inspiration and support over the past 2 years.
The upcoming music videos will feature choreography that will blow you away. I promise not to disappoint. Remember: DANCE IS THE ANSWER. More to come...
Just finished unpacking and arranging the workplace in New York. First AM meeting tomorrow night with the Team. Many exciting things are happening on all fronts within the coming three months. David is in Miami and NK will be in town this weekend to launch MARLO 3.0 - I haven't been blogging too much on this site specifically for that reason. The new site will be far more accessible.
Never Waste a Good Recession.
My first single, "The New Black" is now available for purchase on Amazon!
Check it OUT and be sure to Rate and leave feedback.
When watching this interview on Letterman, I can't HELP but recall all the names I was called in college by my peers and the rumors they started. It seems, however, that standards (vs popularity) does pay off in the end.
I'll be back in Detroit the last 3.5 weeks of August.
Goals//Work:
1. Finish recording the last 6 tracks of the WHOISMARLO album with Mr. Lynch.
2. Re-working the new WHOISMARLO.com website with NK.
I'm VERY excited about the new website. NK is a genius and when he and I start collaborating, innovation seems boundless. The new site is a necessity, in order to start incorporating music features for the upcoming album this November.
In fact, WHOISMARLO.com will be geared strictly to the Album (music and choreography). MARLODELLANTONIO.com will focus on Acting (film and theatrical). If I have time, MARLORIFIC.com will probably be a fan site of sorts.
Which reminds me that I've got to start adding merchandise (of renderings/drawings) to both sites... Must email NK about this... So blessed to have found this guy. We are definitely life-time partners in crime.
Also, the re-vamped sites will incorporate a more module-style blog/Notebook. Features will be more interactive and dynamic. The one thing that I would like more of, is feedback from patrons and viewers. That's the aim... and the goals are set. Let's manifest.
The Facebook Fast ended on Friday night at 12:02 AM PST.
I highly recommend everyone detox from Facebook for at least 1 week, once every 5 weeks on rotation. This is the longest I've been off in one sitting, since... at least Fall 2006. It's awesome. The next one is due the week of August 10th.
I've been doing vast amounts of reading on Rene Descartes and Ayn Rand... Very interesting. Comparing and contrasting the Subjectivist and Objectivist mindsets for the WHOISMARLO album.
At first, I was going to primarily concentrate on Rands view, however, as NK pointed out: it is not possible to be a Religious Objectivist. According to Rand's view, this is indeed true. When I read her fiction, however, I guess I initially perceived "Objectivism" in a different light. At the moment, I am not exactly sure how to define it... Rather than stating, that each human being has a Purpose (or Objective) and that they spend their lives actualizing that Purpose (or Objective) into reality.
Now, I see that Purpose as God-Given. So... since Rand is an Atheist, I have a lot of research to do in defending my point. NK suggest Descartes as a logical start. So far, again, very interesting stuff. I see bounds of spirituality in Rand's work... and I really believe that is why it hits home for so many people.
She does take her views to pretty far extremes, though... Have you read that Lexicon? YIKES.
In the end, of course, the album will become my interpretation of Rands work; how it effected my Life. In essence, this is really all any Artist can ever do.
In other news: Day 6 without Facebook. This was actually much easier than I thought...
I haven't logged on to Facebook in approximately - 35 hours.
This is unheard of. I love it.
